Launched on Whiteladies Road in Bristol in 1992, Chandos Deli now has three main branches in the city as well as four Chandos Express cafés in the Bath/Bristol area.
Chandos Deli stocks several hundred different products from all over Europe and beyond, sourced wherever possible from small producers and suppliers including organic fair trade coffee, artisan cheese and meats and fresh fruit and vegetables direct from the markets of Milan every week.
There’s a good selection of Spanish produce – Chandos are recommended in Sam and Sam Clark’s Moro cookery books, which is not to be sniffed at – as well as the necessary quotient of Sherries, again chosen with a policy that favours quality over quantity and selectivity over mass production.
